My ultimate Prime Day hi-fi tip β€” buy the Wiim Amp Ultra for a bargain price and pair it with these floorstanding speakers for a huge-sounding setup

It's Amazon Prime Day, and one of my favorite deals of day isn't actually a huge discount, but I think it's a really worthwhile buy at the lower price. It's the WiiM Amp Ultra, which is available for $449 at Amazon US (down from $529), or you can get it for Β£425 at Amazon UK (down from $499).

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

I have the WiiM Amp Ultra at home, and it's an amazing streaming amp for this price. It's really well-built and looks at home among nice furniture, with a solid metal finish β€” and it's shockingly compact, considering that it provides up to 100W per channel, so it can work with some really hefty speakers,

Most importantly, it sounds excellent, and there's support for nearly every music service you could want (but I'll come back to that "nearly), plus useful inputs for a turntable and so on.

I use it with a pair of Dali Oberon 5 bookshelf speakers, and the combination is off the charts for a hi-fi system that barely takes up any space. Obviously, floorstanding speakers are tall, but the Oberon 5 only have the same footprint as bookshelf speakers, so these three boxes overall can be used even in space-starved homes, but sound like you've got a much bigger, beefier setup.

When I started this configuration, I auditioned it against using the Amp Ultra with a pair of Dali Oberon 1 bookshelf speakers, and against a pair of Sonos Era 300 speakers (a pair of which costs about the same as getting the Amp Ultra and Oberon 5 speakers).

The Oberon 1 bookshelf speakers crushed the Sonos Era 300 when it came to detail and dynamic response in music, but they were equally crushed by the Sonos for bass depth and dispersion of sound in the room.

However, the Oberon 5 are the best of all worlds with the WiiM powering them β€” big and controlled bass, fantastic detail in the mids and treble, superb dynamic attack, and great dispersion in the room.

So I'd recommend the WiiM Amp Ultra generally, but if you're thinking that you'd like a whole magnificent hi-fi setup for under Β£1,000 in the UK, here's my recommendation today β€” if you're in the US, scroll down, because I've got a recommendation for you right after.

Today's best UK WiiM Amp Ultra and speaker deal combination

The WiiM Amp Ultra is a small-but-mighty streaming amp, offering Wi-Fi streaming from major music services, Bluetooth connectivity, line-in support, and up to 100W per channel of speaker power to drive some pretty demanding boxes, despite its compact size.View Deal

These speakers have technically been discontinued now, in favor of Dali's new Sonik range β€” but that means that while discounted stock remains, they're a stone-cold bargain. They received five stars from our friends at What Hi-Fi?. Two of their key features are wide dispersion (so you don't need to worry much about sweet spots and toe-ing in) and that they're not fussy about placement near walls. Flexible, great-sounding and an amazing price β€” especially combined with the Amp Ultra for less than Β£1k.View Deal

Today's best UK WiiM Amp Ultra and speaker deal combination

Some speakers are quite a lot more expensive in the US than in Europe, and Dali speakers are chief among this category. So when looking for an equivalent system to suggest with the WiiM Amp Ultra in the US, I wanted to find something that was also a huge bargain, and that's just as good, and the ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 is the perfect option, because their bookshelf version also got five stars from What Hi-Fi? in their review.

The WiiM Amp Ultra is a small-but-mighty streaming amp, offering Wi-Fi streaming from major music services, Bluetooth connectivity, line-in support, and up to 100W per channel of speaker power to drive some pretty demanding boxes, despite its compact size.View Deal

Please note that price above is per speaker! You'll need two for, y'know, stereo. That makes the combination with the Amp Ultra just shy of $1,300, but this will be a truly impressive setup for that price, given that it's all you need to get started in the world of hardcore hi-fi, as long as you have a streaming subscription.View Deal

The downside to the WiiM Amp Ultra

There is one thing I want to note about the Amp Ultra: it's not 100% ideal for Apple Music households, despite its aluminum look and slick design. It lacks any kind of Apple support outside of Bluetooth β€” not just Apple Music (which is normal for streaming amps, only Sonos has this natively), but even AirPlay 2, which nearly every other music streaming device on the planet supports.

It doesn't have a USB audio input either, which seems like an odd omission for an 'Ultra' device β€” and it's annoying that it rules out using your Apple device's USB port to send Hi-Res Audio to it.

Now, Spotify is the most popular service, and that's supported. I have a Tidal subscription, so I'm all good. This is far from affecting everyone, but there are plenty of people who are deep in the Apple system, who use Apple Music only, and the Amp Ultra is oddly hostile to those people.

My dad needed a new big-screen TV β€” this Prime Day deal was my top recommendation and saved him $500

My parents just moved into their new home, and my dad asked me for a recommendation for a new big-screen TV. I told him his timing is perfect, as Amazon Prime Day is happening this week, which means big discounts on premium TVs from rival retailers like Best Buyο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώ

He wanted to splurge for an OLED TV. After doing his own research (how dare he, when I work for TechRadar) he asked if he should get our best-rated TV, LG's 77-inch C5 OLED TV.

While it is a stunning TV, I suggested he buy LG's budget OLED display, the 77-inch B5, which is highly thought of (ranked in our best-rated TV guide) and on sale at Best Buy for a record-low price of $1,399.99 (originally $2,999.99)

That's a whopping $500 less than the 77-inch LG C5 (on sale for $1,999.99), and it packs most of the same features, with an excellent picture quality and an easy-to-use smart platform - something that is important to my dad.

My top Prime Day recommendation for a big-screen OLED TV

The LG B5 is this year's best budget OLED TV, and Best Buy has a massive 53% discount on the 77-inch model - making it an easy recommendation. Released last year, the LG B5 was awarded four and a half stars in our review and delivers an exceptional picture with brilliant colors and sharp contrast. You also get excellent gaming features, thanks to the four HDMI 2.1 ports and new AI tools, including AI Search, AI Concierge, and an improved AIΒ Chatbot.

The LG B5 OLED TV earned four and a half stars in our review and is our best budget OLED display. LG's entry-level OLED TV delivers a stunning picture thanks to the Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen2, which produces brilliant, bright colors and sharp contrast.

New features on the B5 include AI Search, AI Concierge, and an enhanced AI Chatbot. Gamers will also appreciate its excellent gaming features, thanks to its four HDMI 2.1 ports, NVIDIA G-Sync, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

This deal is a part of Best Buy's rival Prime Day sale and will end this Sunday. If you're like my dad and want a stunning big-screen OLED TV at a reasonable price, then I can't recommend the LG's 77-inch B5 enough.

Samsung's S90F OLED TV earned five stars in our review, and Best Buy has the 65-inch model on sale for $1,199.99, thanks to a hefty $1,300 discount. I switched to Logitech’s ergonomic keyboard and mouse to minimize wrist strain, and I won’t ever go back to conventional desk accessories

I’m not ashamed to admit that I have absolutely terrible desk posture β€” and I know I’m not alone in hunching over my keyboard and mouse like an old man at the steering wheel.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

The global workforce stands at around 3.7 billion people, and as much as 20% of that total are employed in desk-based jobs. In a recent survey of over 5,000 desk workers, 56% of respondents said they finish their workday experiencing pain or discomfort, and if we apply that figure to the entire planet, as many as 400 million people would say the same thing. Yikes.

Thankfully, there are several ways to alleviate desk-based pain, and while I’d recommend checking out our guides to the best office chairs and best standing desks if you’re struggling with neck and back discomfort, I can personally vouch for two inexpensive products that have genuinely improved my wrist pain: the Logitech Lift mouse and Wave Keys keyboard.

I’d originally planned to write about these two accessories, which I started using in May, in July (so I could say I’d tested them for a full two months), but I’m jumping the gun here because both are currently on sale for Amazon Prime Day.

In the US, the Logitech Lift is now just $56.99 (was $79.99), while the Logitech Wave Keys is $54.13 (was $69.99). In the UK, the Logitech Lift is now Β£45.99 (was Β£69.99), while the Logitech Wave Keys is just Β£51.99 (was Β£69.99). Take it from me: these are small prices to pay for accessories you will use almost every day.

The Logitech Pop next to the Logitech Lift on a wooden table

I swapped the conventional Logitech Pop for the vertical Logitech Lift (Image credit: Future)

Let’s start with the Lift mouse. I didn’t have a problem with traditional mice for the best part of 20 years, but at the beginning of 2026, I began to notice aching pain in my elbow and wrist after using my mouse for only a few hours. A quick Google search revealed that palm-down mice force our forearms into a twisted, unnatural position, which can lead to repetitive strain injuries (RSIs), as well as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome.

I definitely have a case of the latter β€” I’m always resting my elbow on the arm of my chair, compressing my ulnar nerve in the process β€” but I sought to avoid the constant torsion of my forearm by switching to a vertical mouse, hoping that this was the cause of at least some of my wrist pain.

Vertical mice like the Logitech Lift neutralize wrist and forearm alignment, putting your hand at a 57-degree angle and in what Logitech calls a β€œnatural handshake position.” There’s definitely a learning curve to get used to this new position. Initially, I found myself subconsciously gripping the Lift in a palm-down orientation (yes, like a normal mouse), and I struggled with a perceived lack of clicker accuracy. I also worried that it was a little too small for my hands (Logitech recommends the Lift for β€œsmall to medium hands”).

But once I learned to move with my forearm, and not bend my wrist side-to-side, the Lift became objectively more comfortable to use than my regular mouse. I’m not going to sit here and say it’s eliminated all my wrist pain β€” again, I still (stupidly) rest my elbow on the arm of my chair, which messes with my ulnar nerve β€” but I’m definitely able to work for longer periods before needing to pull up a two-minute wrist stretch routine on YouTube.

The Logitech Pop Icon Keys and Logitech Wave keys on a wooden table

I swapped the Logitech Pop Icon Keys for the Logitech Wave keys (Image credit: Future)

The Logitech Wave Keys keyboard is the perfect companion to the Lift mouse. It’s essentially a keyboard with a raised section (a β€˜wave’) above the space bar and a width-spanning cushion for your wrists.

The idea is the same: the Wave’s design places your hands and forearms in a more natural typing position, and you can rest your wrists on a surface that’s much more comfortable than a hard desk. There’s also almost no learning curve with this accessory, since the change versus a normal keyboard is more subtle, but as such, I’d say it’s not as crucial a purchase as the Lift (so if you’re choosing between the two, go for the mouse).

Comfort aside, the Wave keyboard is genuinely satisfying to use. The keys have a nice level of feedback to them, and a nostalgic typewriter-style sound, but the keyboard as a whole is still very much built for modern wants and needs: the function keys, for instance, are customizable, and you can even create shortcuts for repetitive actions.

In other words, you can tweak the Wave keyboard to your specific working habits, and if you pair it with the Lift mouse, you’ll be working faster and more comfortably.

As a reminder, both products are on sale now in the US and UK for Prime members, and Amazon’s Prime Day sale ends at midnight on Friday, June 29, so you’ll need to move fast if you’re keen to add either to your basket. Happy shopping!

Forget the Apple Watch Ultra 3, you probably don't need it β€” this Prime Day Apple Watch Series 11 deal represents better value overall

Before I start, yes, I know that I am personally responsible for listing the Apple Watch Ultra 3 as our best smartwatch overall. And yes, I know that the Apple Watch Ultra is currently at a lowest-ever price in the Amazon Prime Day deals (it's now down to $649 (was $799) in the US).

But hear me out: it might not be the right Apple Watch deal for you.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

While there are certainly some people who get a real kick out of its adventuring features, if you asked most current Apple Watch Ultra 3 owners how often they go on long trail runs or orienteering hikes, necessitating satellite communications and advanced maps features, or how often they go scuba diving, I'd say the answer wouldn't be very many.

Likewise, many users don't use the watch's LTE functionality, which lets you add it to a phone's data plan. I'm sure lots of people also wish it came in a smaller size.

The bottom line is that, when looking for the best value Apple Watch deal for you, I'm also considering all the features you might not use, which end up costing you money at the point of purchase. If you're a keen exerciser looking for a good Apple Watch, it's likely the Series 11 is what you're after, especially since it's at its lowest-ever price right now.

The Series 11 starts at $279 (was $399) in the US for the 42mm GPS-only model, and $309 (was $429) for the 46mm GPS-only model. Check out both deals along with the Apple Watch Ultra 3 below.

For one of Apple's latest smartwatches, $120 off is more than generous, especially if you're looking to upgrade for the latest watchOS 27 support, which comes with Siri AI goodies. This is the first time this month the Apple Watch Series 11 has dropped in price, but it's unlikely it'll see a bigger reduction this Prime Day.

42mm GPS+Cellular: was $499 now $379 View Deal

The larger Apple Watch Series 11 also gets a $120 reduction. It's a good halfway house between the smaller 42mm model and the massive 49mm Apple Watch Ultra 3.

46mm GPS+Cellular: was $529 now $379 View Deal

Are you a Garmin user who wants to try something different? The Apple Watch Ultra range is a solid Garmin rival if a) you like using your smartwatch without having to keep your iPhone nearby, and b) you know you'll want to get a kick out of its plethora of extreme sports features. As predicted, this model has seen another price drop just before Prime Day, hitting a record-low discount. It's the best watch of last year.View Deal

Because you have a choice of size and whether to add the Cellular connectivity or not, as well as not having adventuring features most users won't get a lot of mileage out of, the Apple Watch Series 11 does come across as a better value Apple Watch pick for most people. However, some power users and hardcore exercisers will still get a real thrill out of the comprehensive featureset of the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Amazon Prime Day features an OK, if a little disappointing, deal on the latest Kindle Paperwhite. We found in our Kindle Paperwhite review that it's packed with features to suit all avid readers, including a 12-week battery life, glare-free 7-inch screen, adjustable warm light, and storage space for thousands of books. This is a good buy and one of the best ereaders out there, it's just a shame that the days of even bigger discounts are well in the past.

The Kindle Colorsoft is down to its lowest price as part of Amazon Prime Day. As Amazon's first and only colored Kindle, it's a must-have for people who love reading travel guides, graphic novels, and other genres with a lot of images and photographs. It's USB-C and wireless charging compatible, lasting up to 8 weeks on a full battery.View Deal

This updated version of the Kindle Scribe hasn't been discounted since launch, so this Prime Day is a great time to bag a deal. Our Kindle Scribe review was down on some missing features that have been added in recent updates, so now this is a better value for a multi-functional device.View Deal

The best upgrade you can give your home is new, better Wi-Fi – and Amazon has knocked $100 off its eero mesh system

In the current climate where tech devices seem to be rocketing in price due to the global memory shortage (Apple just annouced some pretty brutal hikes, as has Xbox), buying a new Wi-Fi router has now become one of the most affordable - and impactful - ways to upgrade the devices in your home, and for Prime Day, Amazon has cut the price on a number of its eero routers, including the three-pack eero 6+ mesh Wi-Fi system, which is now $194.99 (down from $299.99).

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

Mesh routers are fantastic devices for ensuring every device in your home can access your Wi-Fi. Unlike single routers, mesh routers consist of several units that wirelessly connect to one another and help spread their Wi-Fi signal throughout your home.

Because so many devices in our homes need internet connections these days, making sure you have fast, reliable Wi-Fi can boost the performance of a wide range of devices in your home.

And while the likes of laptops, tablets, graphics cards, and other memory-dependent devices are seeing price hikes, mesh routers aren't as affected. So, rather than despairing over constantly rising prices, check out these eero router deals below and upgrade your entire home's internet instead.

Today's best eero router deals

If you've already got an eero mesh system, you can expand it with this extender, which is now under $50. This is great for people who need extra coverage, but note that you need an existing eero network to add this to - it won't work on its own. According to Amazon, this will add 1,500 square feet to your coverage.View Deal

This two-pack eero 6 system features a router and extender, and is ideal for medium-sized homes, with coverage of up to 3,000 square feet. Many homes won't need more than two units, so you can save some money by getting this smaller pack. If you find you need more coverage, you can buy an extender (listed above).View Deal

This three-pack has had a $70 price cut, making it very tempting, and the perfect Wi-Fi solution for most large homes thanks to its 4,500 sq. ft coverage and support for over 75 simultaneous device connections. If you don't want, or need, Wi-Fi 7 support (the vast majority of your devices are likely Wi-Fi 6) this is a brilliant buy that can make a big difference to your home Wi-Fi.View Deal

If you have more modern devices in your home but haven't fully embraced Wi-Fi 7, then the eero 6+ Mesh Wi-Fi System is a great choice. Unlike the eero 6 systems, the eero 6+ uses an extra Wi-Fi radio channel, which means network congestion is reduced - and that means a potentially faster and more reliable internet connection for the devices around your home. This two-pack offers coverage of up to 3,000 square feet, and for $80 off, this is an excellent value.View Deal

Summer's here, the World Cup is on, so making sure your outdoor space has great Wi-Fi is essential, and eero's outdoor model connects to your existing eero network, whilst spreading super-fast Wi-Fi 7 wireless to the furthest reaches of your yard, and ensuring garages and summer houses all have solid, fast internet.View Deal

This three-pack features Amazon's latest and fastest eero mesh system, with Wi-Fi 7 support, so compatible devices will get maximum speeds from your Wi-Fi. It can handle internet speeds of up to 5 Gbps, cover up to 6,000 square feet, and cope with over 600 devices connecting to the Wi-Fi. As the name suggests, this is mainly aimed at professional environments, but big homes will benefit as well, and with the $150 price cut, it's more affordable than ever.View Deal

All of these eero systems benefit from an easy, app-based installation process, automatic updates to keep your home secure, and they also act as an Alexa smart home hub, allowing your smart devices to be controlled by an Alexa-capable smart speaker.

As a fitness tracker reviewer, sometimes I'm sick of wearing smartwatches β€” here are 3 discreet, screenless fitness trackers I've personally tested, and where to buy them on Prime Day

As TechRadar's Senior Fitness and Wearables Editor, I'm usually testing at least one smartwatch, and sometimes two at once. But occasionally I get overwhelmed with the volley of notifications or the compulsion to check my metrics, and swap the tracker out with something more discrete and screenless.

I'm not the only one. 'Focus' wearables are on the rise, be they fitness bands without screens, smart rings, or something else like hybrid watches. They're different form factors, but they all do fundamentally the same thing β€” passively track your health and fitness in the background, rather than actively show you information during a workout like the best smartwatches.

Below is a trio of fitness trackers I've personally tested, along with my verdict about what kind of person they're best suited for β€” and where to find the best deals for Amazon Prime Day.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

If you dislike the idea of a smartwatch but still want a useful fitness tracker β€” maybe you want to wear a proper analog/digital watch β€” then I would recommend you start your search by looking at these three wearables.

1. Google Fitbit Air

Google Fitbit Air

  • Best for: everyday exercise, budget buyers

I recently reviewed the Google Fitbit Air and really liked it. The old Fitbits have been redesigned as a screenless fitness tracker, around 12g including strap, with all the information being fed into the app so you can check it at your leisure. There's a haptic alarm you can tap to get rid of, but that's really all the interaction you have with the wristband, other than charging it around once a week.

It's very comfortable to wear during sleep because of its lightweight, and it cleaves very close to chest-based heart rate monitors and the likes of the top-tier Apple Watch Ultra 3. It's very popular because it's cheap too, at just $99.99 / Β£84.99 / AU$199 β€” at its base tier.

It does have an AI-powered premium health coach attached, which is an optional extra costing $9.99 / Β£7.99 / AU$14.99 a month, or $99.99 / Β£79.99 / AU$140 annually. Without this, you get your base stats such as sleep, steps, recovery, heart rate, and workout tracking. As you'll see later on in this article, premium tiers and subscriptions are becoming a theme. But whether you choose to subscribe or not, the Fitbit Air remains a solid choice for screenless tracking.

2. Oura Ring 4

Oura Ring 4

  • Best for: holistic wellness, sleep tracking

The Oura Ring 5 is out, true, but that just means there are lots of deals on the Oura Ring 4 this week. Another subscription-based wearable, starting at $349 / Β£349 (less if you snag a Prime Day deal) with a $5.99-in-all-regions subscription attached, the Oura Ring 4 sits firmly at the premium end of the finger.

But it is undeniably impressive. It's even more comfortable than the Fitbit above (and thus a top-tier sleep tracker), boasts accurate metrics, and has an impressive suite of features, including a tag-based system to allow you to add context to your day's metrics and a sophisticated auto-exercise detection feature. It emphasizes holistic wellbeing, with emphasis on balance and mindfulness, even if the option for in-app blood tests is a bit creepy and, for want of a better word, 'biohacky'.

It comes in a range of finishes and colors, so it is a lot more discreet than the cheap plastic Fitbit. Price aside, it's an excellent fitness tracker, and the Prime Day deals should help soften that blow.

3. Whoop 5.0

Whoop 5.0 Band mid-workout

(Image credit: Max Delaney / TechRadar)
  • Best for: serious athletes, optimizers

The screenless fitness tracking pioneer, Whoop is a wearable for perpetual optimizers. Whoop is designed to effectively be never taken off: the charging puck included with two of Whoop's three membership tiers effectively allows you to charge the device while it's still attached to your wrist, so you need never, ever take it off at all. Whoop collects and organizes an enormous amount of data, spitting it out in the form of all sorts of metrics, from your Whoop Age to its proprietary Strain score.

Its app is fantastic, implementing AI features well and housing an intuitive, comprehensive workout builder for gym rats. It's an excellent device for competitive athletes, casual CrossFit and Hyrox enthusiasts, and weekend warriors.

But Whoop is a premium device which you don't exactly buy: you rent access to it each year, starting at Β£169 / $199 / AU$299 per year for the Whoop One 5.0 and rising to Β£229 / $239 / AU$419 per year for the premium Whoop Peak tier, which nets you extra features like Whoop Age.

The highest tier is Whoop Life, which gets you a premium Whoop MG device with medical-grade heart health features, costing Β£349 / $359 / AU$629 per year. In my opinion, paying that each year in perpetuity doesn't represent good value β€” unless you can score an Amazon Prime Day deal on it.

Want to finally add Catan to your board game collection? These are the versions and expansions I recommend

Catan is a board game icon for a reason. It takes everything you love about childhood classics and serves them with gameplay that's much more satisfying, properly blending luck and skill. But which version should you play?

With Amazon Prime Day US deals serving up so many different versions of Catan it can feel impossible to choose one, thankfully for you I’ve played them all and I know the answer.

The base game is at a phenomenally good asking price of $29.99 β€” saving you 45% at Amazon if you’re a Prime member β€” but there are plenty of alternatives and expansions to consider sticking in your basket too.

β€’ View the full Amazon Prime Day sale

Pieces and the board from board game Catan

Of course, the classic base game is the best starting point, especially with the Prime Day deal Amazon has going on right now. The only issue is that the game can have an awkward number of players at exactly three or four, which is why the five-to-six player expansion is an excellent pickup if, like me, you find your game nights are rarely small enough for the base limit.

Alternatively my partner I have loved the two-player Rivals game as it provides a lot of the same strategic rivalry without needing a group over to get a game in.

If you’ve opted for the classic original, you also have the option to enhance it with one of three expansions (which can be expanded further with components for five or six-player games). My favorite is Cities & Knights as it takes core elements in the base game and makes them a little more complex β€” such as expanding the role of cities, and giving your army of knights an enemy to oppose β€” without altering the game so much that it feels inaccessible. Explorers & Pirates alters the game board to include islands to be explored (and harvested), as well as pirates to contend with; much like Cities & Knights, it expands the core elements of the base game without making it feel unfamiliar.

Traders & Barbarians includes several smaller changes in one larger package. There are new two-player rules, you can replace dice rolls with event cards, there are new trading mechanics, and the addition of fishing β€” a mechanic all games need in my opinion.

Lastly, I’ve included three entirely different standalone versions of Catan. New Energies will feel very familiar except there’s now an energy mechanic, with consequences to contend with as you pollute the world (and benefits to be gained by investing in renewables). Dawn of Humankind introduces a much larger map (essentially the whole globe) and encourages true exploration and travel supported by the game’s familiar resource gathering. Meanwhile, On the Road turns the classic into a portable card game with streamlined rules that make it excellent for playing while traveling.

Dawn of Humankind is pricier than we’ve seen in the past, unfortunately, but I love these Catan alternatives so much that I can’t include them.

This air cooler could be just what you need to bring the heat down in your home this summer β€” but there's one small caveat you should be aware of before investing

I think it's safe to say that a large majority of the British public have been struggling to get through their daily lives in this extreme summer weather, but if you're a freak for the heat, well, props to you.

Since it's Amazon Prime Day, everyone has been racing to try and get their hands on the best fans before the online retailer is completely ransacked, but we've just spotted this fan and air conditioner hybrid (it's more of an air cooler) for less than Β£100, and it's quite a steal if you ask me.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day

One of the few remaining air coolers on Amazon is the Midea 5L 3-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner, an evaporative air cooler that's now at Β£89.99 from Β£93.49. While we haven't had the chance to test it out yet, there's no denying that this is an affordable price point for most people who are searching for the key to cooling their home. But in spite of its undoubtedly handy features, there's something you should know before you add it to your basket.

Today's best Midea 5L Air Cooler deal

This is more than a standard oscillating fan, it uses water to project a cold breeze into a humid room which, given this heat, sounds like a dream on paper. And it's not too expensive either compared to the likes of the premium range of Dyson fans, which are well into the triple figures. View Deal

Price aside, the Midea 3-in-1 fan does come with some functional perks, the main ones being its fan, humidifier, and cooling settings, giving you a variety of options depending on your need.

Its large 5-litre tank is a plentiful, and when it's filled to the top, you can make the most of its air-cooling properties for up to 12 hours each day before refilling, so that way, you're not constantly patrolling back and forth to fill it up. You can also choose from three speeds and two operation modes, normal and natural, to adjust the air flow to your comfort.

Sounds great for its price point right? And it is, but the only caveat is that it adds moisture to your air which, when it gets quite humid in the summer months, can make the air feel even hotter. Therefore, the more moisture added to the air in your home, the more moisture in the air the heat has to work with.

In short, evaporative air coolers like this one will solve your issues in dry heat, but as for humid heat (which it currently is in the UK), the results may not be the same. If this has swayed you in the opposite direction, here's an alternative dehumidifier we've selected below.

We haven't had the chance to test this one out yet, but we've had plenty of hands-on experience with Honeywell's range of other home tech and we've been pleased each time. This model comes with a 3.4-litre water tank and custom humidity controls levels, as well as a smart mode that can automatically adjust dehumidification. And it's not going to make an absolute racket while in use either, it produces sounds up to 44db. View Deal

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the MacBook Neo’s $100 price bump means budget Windows 11 laptops are now the better buy

Apple can be its own worst enemy sometimes. After shaking up the industry with both the MacBook Air M5 (slim, light and great value for money) and the MacBook Neo (which redefined what we should expect from an affordable laptop), it spurred its laptop-making rivals, such as Dell and Acer, to up their game and compete.

The result is a reinvigorated laptop market with huge amounts of choice, with Apple continuing to lead the pack due to price and quality.

However, Apple has just announced some pretty major price hikes for a variety of its products, including the MacBook Neo ($699 / Β£699 / AU$1,049, up from $599 / Β£599 / AU$899), MacBook Air M5 ($1,299 / Β£1,299 / AU$2,099, up from $1,099 / Β£1,099 / AU$1,799) and the 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 ($1,999 / Β£1,999 / AU$3,199, up from $1,699 / Β£1,699 / AU$2,699).

Those increases, especially for the MacBook Air, are brutal, and make it a lot harder to justify. The MacBook Neo also becomes less of a no-brainer.

The problem for Apple is that these price hikes come at a time when its Windows 11 competitors are steadily bringing out brilliant alternatives - and it means they are now better value propositions in many cases, especially during Amazon Prime Day.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

The reason behind Apple's price rises is the global memory shortage, but that means many Windows 11 laptops could see price rises as well (and some have risen in price already).

However, because of the huge variety of Windows laptops that are made by a range of manufacturers, there's a lot more choice for consumers to shop around for β€” and now Apple no longer has a lead when it comes to price, performance or design, those Windows laptops suddenly become a whole lot more tempting, as the current Prime Day sales prove.

Below, I've picked out some great US and UK deals for MacBook Neo, Air, and Pro alternatives. Fair warning: they do run Windows 11, so you'll need to put up with that, but to be fair, Microsoft's operating system is getting a steady stream of fixes and new features these days.

If you want to stick with Apple, then check out our collection of Apple Prime Day deals that can help you avoid the price rise.

Today's best MacBook Pro alternative deals in the US

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 256V
RAM: 16GB DDR5
Storage: 1TB SSD

As I said in my Galaxy Book6 Ultra review, Samsung has come the closest to Apple's slick ecosystem. One of the best things about MacBooks is how they can easily integrate with iPads, iPhones and AirPods, and Samsung, which makes tablets, smartphones, headphones and more, has come up with a similar (if not quite as slick) system, which makes the (slightly older) Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 a brilliant MacBook Pro alternative, especially if you already have other Samsung devices. The specs also compare favorably to the MacBook Pro, especially with this discount.View Deal

Graphics card: RTX 5070
Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Storage: 2TB SSD

With an RTX 5070 graphics card, Ultra 9 chipset, and a whopping 32GB of RAM, this one is all set for excellent performance right out of the box, while featuring a relatively discrete and slick design for a gaming laptop, and a price that undercuts the MacBook Pro.View Deal

Graphics card: GeForce RTX 5080

Need a monster of a laptop? Forget Amazon, Best Buy has you covered: the MSI Vector 16 HX AI packs a mighty RTX 5080 GPU along with a cutting-edge Intel Core Ultra HX chip with built-in NPU for handling AI workloads as well as multitasking when gaming. This is a great MacBook Pro alternative for creative professionals, even if you don't play games.View Deal

Today's best MacBook Neo alternative deals in the UK

Processor: Intel Core i5
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

This is a great price for a relatively modern laptop that comes with a well-performing Intel Core i5 CPU. On top of that, you get 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD for storage, and incredible battery life, which represents good value for money overall. It's slightly larger with the 16-inch display, which could hamper portability, but it's a solid everyday machine for the price, and it's now much cheaper than the MacBook Neo.View Deal

Processor: Snapdragon X
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 1TB

This is a great price with a well-performing and efficient Snapdragon X CPU. On top of that, you get 16GB of RAM, a surprisingly large 1TB SSD for storage, and incredible battery life, which represents good value for money overall. I like it as a light, portable and capable all-around everyday machine.View Deal

Today's best MacBook Air alternative deals in the UK

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 1TB

This is a fantastic price for one of the latest Samsung laptops with a modern Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and several other top-spec components. At Β£350 off, this is a great price for a laptop that's tailor-made for powerful performance and offers fantastic battery life of up to 18 hours. This is a particularly strong option if you want to combine power, performance, and style in one package.View Deal

Processor: Snapdragon X Plus
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

The latest Microsoft Surface Laptop is one of our favourite Windows devices and received a glowing five-stars in our Microsoft Surface Laptop review, so I'm obviously going to call out this solid saving at Amazon. This particular specification includes a powerful Snapdragon X Plus processor, a healthy 16GB of RAM and a reasonable 512GB SSD. That storage feels a little light for the price, but the levels of performance and battery life from the CPU are top-tier to go alongside the swish-looking display and keyboard.View Deal

Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350

The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED is one of the best laptops students can buy, as it uses AMD's Ryzen AI 7 350 processor. It's capable of storming through intense CPU tasks, utilizing AI like Copilot+, and gaming thanks to its Radeon 860M integrated GPU.View Deal

Today's best MacBook Pro alternative deals in the UK

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 5 325
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

Thanks to a huge Β£300 saving, the Galaxy Book6 Pro is now a formidable MacBook Pro competitor, especially when you consider the performance, design and ecosystem integration this laptop offers. If you have a Samsung tablet, for example, you can quickly use it as a second screen, much like you can do with an iPad and MacBook. The rest of the Galaxy Book6 Pro's build quality is extremely high, and what we've come to expect from Samsung's high-end laptops.View Deal

Graphics card: GeForce RTX 5060Β
Processor: Intel Core 7
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 1TB

Alienware gaming laptops never come cheap, but I actually rate this deal on the newest Aurora 16 model at the official Dell Store. With a stonking Β£550 off, you're paying a fair price here considering you're getting an RTX 5060 graphics card and 16GB of RAM. Couple that with a really nice design, and you've got an extremely solid 16-inch gaming laptop here, and it's a solid MacBook Pro alternative, as you can challenge the GPU with creative workloads. View Deal

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7
RAM: 32GB
Storage: 1TB

This thin and light powerhouse of a laptop from MSI is a fantastic alternative to the base MacBook Pro model thanks to its stunning 2.8K OLED screen, 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD, which gives you the kind of performance you'd expect from the more expensive MacBook Pro. With a 14% price cut for Prime Day, it's an even more tempting alternative, and the overall design of this laptop is excellent.View Deal

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H
RAM: 32GB

Another great thing about Windows 11 laptops is that because of the range of manufacturers, there are some really interesting spins on the usual form factor. So, while Apple won't even consider putting a touchscreen on a MacBook, over on the other side we have weird and wonderful beauties like this, which features two touchscreens. It works well and can be a real boon for creative tasks, and it's also fitted with some of the most powerful mobile components on the market as well.View Deal

More Prime Day deals in the UK

I’ve used these headphones every single day for 11 months over options from Bose and Sony because of their stunningly detailed sound β€” and this Prime Day they’ve been slashed to their lowest ever price

Given that I review audio gadgets for a living, I tend to hoard headphones the way most people collect loose change. But there's only one pair I rely on literally every day: the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3, which is why I was pleased to see they've gotten an awesome discount this Prime Day.

You can currently buy the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 for Β£255 (was Β£399) at Amazon UK. Not only does it make them much more affordable, but it actually brings them down to their lowest price ever. And don't feel left out if you're based in the US β€” you can still get a decent discount on them where you are, for $409.99 (was $479.99) at Amazon.

As reviews editor at TechRadar, I've used a ludicrous number of headphones over the years, from the absurdly premium Focal Clear MG to budget bangers like the Cambridge Audio Melomania P100. But there's only one pair that I come back to again and again, that have earned their place as my trusty workhorse when other headphones can't quite fit the bill: the Px7 S3.

So if you're looking to get superb audio without having to pay a premium for it, I definitely think you should check out this deal.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 are a drop-dead gorgeous pair of ANC headphones that sound better than just about every rival in their price class. With impeccable design, a fleshed-out feature set, and aptX Adaptive higher-res Bluetooth streaming, they're a wonderful premium pick.View Deal

Part of what makes the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 such a fantastic-sounding pair of headphones is their staggering precision. Not only does their soundstage feel crisp and detailed, but their instrument separation particularly makes them stand out, especially at this price.View Deal

Honestly, this discount makes these headphones a valid contender for some of the best headphones out there. There's a reason we gave them 5 stars in our Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 review after all.

The main reason I love the Px7 S3 for everyday use is that I can count on them to punch way above their weight in terms of sonic quality. Thanks to their aptX Lossless connectivity, they're able to stream music at what is essentially CD quality, while the soundstage they offer up feels precise yet spacious. Without spending a significant chunk more, you won't get more deft sound than this.

I also love how faithful their sound is. While I'll admit they don't offer the same driving bass as headphones like the much spendier AirPods Max 2, they also don't neglect some frequencies just to emphasize others, a shortcut many mid-range and budget cans take advantage of. They're faithful enough that I happily trust them for everyday music production, which is not something I can say about a lot of Bluetooth headphones.

And with this massive discount, I'd honestly say you can't lose with the Px7 S3.

Amazon's Prime Day 4K Blu-ray sale is heaven if you want movies in Dolby Atmos and HDR to really show off what your home theater can do β€” I've picked 20 of the best, all under $15 / Β£17

It's Amazon Prime Day (well, week), and it's great news for physical media fans: there are tons of great deals on 4K Blu-rays, regular Blu-rays and DVDs. It includes big box sets and individual movies β€” there's way more there than I could hope to summarize here.

β€’ Amazon US: See all 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Prime Day deals
β€’ Amazon UK: See all 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Prime Day deals

So on this page, I've specifically picked out movies that I know to be excellent home theater showcases, either through spectacular visuals, super-immersive soundtracks, or both.

And I've limited the price to options under $15 in the US, and Β£17 in the UK, since that seems to be the sweet spot right now, though there are some excellent movies cheaper than that. You'll find the US options just below, or click here to jump to the UK options.

Options include modern showpieces such as Sinners, beautifully restored classics such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, and not reference-quality discs including Blade Runner 2049.

If you want more Prime Day options beyond movies, you can look at our on-going Prime Day live blogs, constantly updated with new deals and price changes β€” here's our US Prime Day live round-up, and here's our UK Prime Day UK live round-up.

The iPad Air is my favorite Apple tablet, but it just got more expensive β€” this Prime Day deal may be your last chance to grab it for less, and it’s already selling out

Well, we saw this coming: Apple just announced major price hikes across its product portfolio, meaning popular devices like the MacBook and iPad are getting more expensive.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

In fact, they’ve already gotten more expensive β€” the Apple store went offline this morning and reappeared an hour later with the new product prices. These increases are a response to β€œan extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage,” Apple confirmed to TechRadar, adding that β€œwe have shielded our customers from these increases so far, but we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices.” Sigh.

As TechRadar’s Phones and Tablets Editor, I’m particularly irked by the fact that the iPad Air now starts at $749 / Β£749 β€” that’s a $150 / Β£100 increase over its former $599 / Β£599 starting price, which taints its appeal as an affordable all-rounder.

The iPad Air has long been my go-to tablet recommendation for most people, but at this new price, I’m more inclined to recommend the iPad 11-inch (2025), which continues to start at a comparatively cheap $349 / Β£329.

The good news among all this doom and gloom is that Amazon’s annual Prime Day sale is happening right now, and several excellent Prime Day iPad deals are live in both the US and the UK. The iPad Air is among these discounted Apple tablets, so if you’ve been considering buying one, I’d recommend doing so ASAP β€” it may never be this affordable again.

For more details on Apple's iPad price increases, head to the bottom of the page.

Today's best iPad deals in the US

The iPad Air is a great all-rounder tablet. It's powered by Apple's superfast M4 chip and boasts a crisp Liquid Retina display, making it perfect for both streaming and productivity. Unsurprisingly, it's selling fast on Amazon β€” at the time of writing, only the Space Gray model is available in the 128GB configuration, and all 256GB models have sold out. You can pick up the 512GB configuration in either Purple or Starlight.View Deal

If you'd prefer the larger iPad Air 13-inch (2026), your only option (for the Wi-Fi model, at least) is the 256GB configuration in Space Gray model. In other words: this iPad is selling fast, so you'll need to act quickly to secure your unit.View Deal

Today's best iPad deals in the UK

Amazon's current iPad Air deals in the UK aren't anywhere near as good as they are in the US, but stock is much higher, and therefore, more color options are available. Powered by Apple's superfast M4 chip and boasting a crisp Liquid Retina display, the iPad Air is perfect for both streaming and productivity. It may not be the cheapest it's ever been, but Β£578.99 is still much cheaper than Apple's new price for the iPad Air.View Deal

If you'd prefer the larger iPad Air 13-inch (2026), all color options are currently on sale at Amazon except for Blue. If you desperately want that particular model, Amazon does still have the 256GB variant on sale at the time of writing, while Pink is your only option for a discounted 512GB model.View Deal

Still looking for a big screen for the World Cup? I'm a TV expert and these are the best 75-inch TV Prime Day deals I could find

If you're still deciding on a big screen TV for the World Cup, I've been searching through the Amazon Prime Day TV deals and have found a few solid 75-inch offers.

β€’ Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

In the US, if you're looking for a budget big screen, the best bet is the TCL QM6K 75-inch for $747.99 (was $799.99) at Amazon US. Not an earth-shattering discount, but it all helps. I'd also highlight the Samsung QN90F 75-inch for $1,499.99 (was $1,999.99) at Best Buy. This is our pick for the best TV for sports for a reason, and this is a great price for a 75-inch at this level. Finally, for OLED fans, your best choice is the LG B5 77-inch for $1,399.99 (was $1799.99) at Best Buy. Not its lowest price, but great value nonetheless.

In the UK, the TCL Q6C 75-inch is Β£699 (was Β£1,099) at JoyBuy, for those looking for a good budget option. Taking advantage of Prime Day, the Amazon Ember Mini-LED 75-inch is down to Β£999 (was Β£1,999) at Amazon UK. This proved to be a good TV for sports when I tested it, and this is the best time to buy. Finally, for OLED, the Samsung S85F 77-inch is available for Β£1,199 (was Β£1,999) at JoyBuy. That's an excellent price for an OLED of that size.

Today's best 75-inch TV deals in the US

The TCL QM6K's picture is colorful and detailed, and with the right settings, it has very good motion handling, perfect for sports. It also has solid gaming performance and features. While this $747.99 price for the 75-inch doesn't beat the record-low, it's an excellent price for a 75-inch mini-LED.View Deal

Easily one of the best value OLED TVs in a big screen size, the 77-inch B5 has dropped to $1,399.99. That's not a record-low, but still a very good price. With vibrant colors and crisp detail as well as smooth motion, this is a great TV for the World Cup.View Deal

The Samsung QN90F is a perfect TV for bright rooms, thanks to its anti-glare screen and solid brightness. With awesome motion handling, refined detail and dynamic colors, it produces brilliant pictures. It's also our best TV for sports. Best Buy has the 75-inch model for a record-low $1,499.99.View Deal

The TCL QM7K is a feature-packed mini-LED TV that over-delivers for its price range. It has great picture quality with high brightness, solid motion handling and punchy colors. This deal takes the 75-inch model down to $999.99. Not its lowest price, but great value for a screen this size.View Deal

The TCL QM8L is one of the brand's 2026 flagship SQD mini-LED TVs, and thanks to its new panel tech, it produces spectacular colors and high brightness levels. Its motion is also 'buttery' smooth for movies and sports. This deal knocks the 75-inch model down to $1,699.99. Considering this TV is brand new, that's a great price. View Deal

Today's best 75-inch TV deals in the UK

If you want an affordable big screen for the World Cup, the 75-inch TCL Q6C is a terrific option. It produces bold brightness and colors that look more premium than the price suggests. Plus, its motion handling is solid too. Joybuy has this TV down to Β£699, which is a great price for a 75-inch mini-LED. View Deal

The Amazon Ember Mini-LED (formally the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED) proves to be a surprisingly good TV for sports, with solid brightness, detail and motion handling. As always, Prime Day is the best time to buy an Amazon-branded TV, and the Mini-LED 75-inch has dropped back to its record-low price of Β£999. View Deal

The LG B5 may still be available in places, but this is an excellent deal on the brand-new LG B6E. This is the 'cheaper' model (there's also a B65), but it still supports Dolby Vision, 4K 120Hz and has most of the smart features of the other models. This is the cheapest you'll get a 2026 OLED for in a 77-inch size, with it already hitting Β£1747.99. View Deal

For a 77-inch OLED, Β£1199 is super-cheap. It just also happens to be the excellent Samsung S85F, a colorful, contrast-rich OLED TV with very good motion handling (once set up). While this may be an entry-level OLED, it certainly outperforms that title, earning 4.5 stars out of 5 in our review.View Deal

This Prime Day deal has convinced me to resubscribe to Apple TV β€” save over 50% for a limited time

While you might think Prime Day is all about deals on vacuums, iPads, and air fryers, it's also one of the best opportunities to score a rare discount on a popular streaming serviceο»Ώ.

Case in point: Amazon has a Prime Day Apple TV deal that lets you add an Apple TV subscription for only $5.99 a month for two months. It's normally $12.99 per month, which means you're getting a massive 54% off.

Apple TV lets you to watch popular shows like Your Friends and Neighbors, Shrinking, Widow's Bay, and my personal favorite and the reason I want to resubscribe, The Morning Show, which is coming back for a fifth season.

Something to keep in mind is that discounts from streaming services like Apple TV rarely happen, and today's Prime Day offer ends on June 26. Also remember, you'll need to subscribe through Prime Video and be an Amazon Prime member to score. If you aren't already a member, you can sign up today for a free 30-day trial.

I recently got into mobile gaming β€” here's what's in my setup right now that makes it even more enjoyable

The arrival of The Division: Resurgence earlier this year β€” a game in one of my favorite series β€” pulled me into mobile gaming hard.

I soon began building the perfect mobile gaming setup to meet my needs, but also to make sure I enhanced and made my small-screen experience as optimal and as enjoyable as possible. That's where the kit below came in, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Adding dedicated gaming gear, where appropriate, has made the world of difference and augmented my gaming on mobile. This all starts with a dedicated, powerful phone; I was lucky enough to find an ASUS Rog Phone 8 Pro in one of the TechRadar cupboards which is perfect, but you can't buy it now β€” so I've included the most recent version of that phone below instead.

Otherwise it's all there, just as I use it. While the DualSense and mobile phone controller are good in some scenarios, I love the fact that I finally found a mobile controller for my different hands in the form of the Nacon MG-X Pro. Audio-wise, I was fortunate enough to have some high-profile SteelSeries gear to hand, and that's stayed with my setup due to the excellent connectivity and portability the buds and headset offer.

Having tested gaming gear, and spent hours whittling my mobile gaming gear down to the stuff below, you might find that some of it is exactly what you're looking for too.
